MCS Coca-Cola LLC is taking responsibility for its packaging waste and has set an ambitious goal to recycle an amount of plastic equivalent to every beverage it sells by 2030. In line with this objective, a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding was signed between MCS Coca-Cola LLC, TML LLC, and the National Association of Apartment Owners’ Associations of Mongolia.
This collaboration is based on the fact that residential complexes and apartment neighborhoods have strong potential to sort waste and supply recyclable materials to recycling facilities. Currently, more than 1,600 apartment owners’ associations are registered nationwide, yet only about 30% of them sort their waste. Therefore, the National Association of Apartment Owners’ Associations will support efforts to activate and engage the associations under its network.

The main objective of this partnership is to increase the number of apartment owners’ associations that practice waste sorting and to provide residents with the opportunity to separate their waste properly. Within the framework of this cooperation, the parties will jointly implement the following initiatives:
- Collect sorted plastic regularly from participating apartment owners’ associations using the transportation vehicles of TML Plastic LLC
- Organize visits for representatives of apartment owners’ associations to the TML Plastic LLC plastic recycling facility
- Provide guidance and methodology for effective waste sorting
- Establish waste sorting stations for the apartment owners’ associations that actively participated in the #ДАЯС (Mobile Recycling Collection Station) campaign in May this year.
