As part of its corporate social responsibility, MCS Coca-Cola has announced its goal to recycle all beverage bottles sold by 2030. To achieve this, the company has launched the “World Without Waste” campaign, encouraging the public to sort and recycle their plastic bottles.

Globally, Coca-Cola has promoted this initiative since 2018 across over 200 countries, urging its bottling partners to ensure that every bottle sold is matched by a bottle recycled.

Actively joining this environmentally and socially significant effort, MCS Coca-Cola has become the first in Mongolia to start a plastic bottle recycling project.  As a result, the TML plastic recycling plant, established by MCS Coca-Cola, began operations last year.

In Mongolia, approximately 18,000 tons of plastic bottles are used annually. The TML plant, with a recycling capacity of 20,000 tons per year, can recycle and reuse each plastic bottle an average of five times.

About 80 employees of MCS Coca-Cola successfully participated in the annual Ulaanbaatar Marathon, an international running event held as a tradition every year.

In addition to participating actively as teams from different departments and the company’s volunteer council, employees also ran together with their families in the marathon, which aims to promote running as a sport and public fitness.

MCS Coca-Cola implements policies that create a healthy and safe working environment and support employees’ well-being and active, sporty lifestyles. To encourage staff participating in this year’s event, the team gathered at the Bonaqua booth to have breakfast together, do warm-up exercises, play fun games, and take commemorative photos.

The marathon, which attracts thousands of runners and enthusiasts, is sponsored by MCS Coca-Cola under its Bonaqua water brand.

   “On the occasion of World Water Day, observed under the theme “Groundwater”, MCS Coca-Cola LLC is presenting an overview of how the company treats and reuses its factory wastewater. In 2010, it became the first food industry company in Mongolia to establish a wastewater treatment facility.

Since then, the water used daily in the production process has been purified using MRB technology. This treated water meets the standards (MNS 6734:2018) suitable for irrigation of green spaces, car washing, concrete production, firefighting, and use in recycling plants.Organizations that wish to protect drinking water resources are encouraged to become users of MCS Coca-Cola LLC’s treated water.

The “Entrepreneur” awards, organized by the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI), recognize the top enterprises, organizations, and business leaders who make a tangible contribution to the socio-economic development of Mongolia.

MCS Coca-Cola LLC was honored as the “Featured Enterprise of the Year” and as an organization implementing “Sustainable Production Management”

• In 2020–2021, the company launched Mongolia’s first project to recycle waste plastic bottles and has set a goal to recycle 100% of its sold plastic bottles by 2030 while also reducing the weight of its packaging.
• Additionally, MCS Coca-Cola, in collaboration with MCS International, replaced its coal-fired technology with gas-powered steam boilers, implementing a comprehensive program for environmentally friendly and socially responsible business operations.
